I I was thoroughly engrossed.

Grief is a shape shifter. It never really goes away. Time really doesn’t heal all wounds. It makes them more tolerable.

Very poignant post. Believe it or not back in the 70’s Ronni’s married lover ( yes Ronni was still married to Ken) had a heart attack in her car and died in the hospital that night. We only knew him as her adorable, funny co worker and both families didn’t find together, kids, spouses, and all. Her grief was inexplicable as they had been in the middle of an argument about leaving their respective spouses right before he passed out in the passenger seat of her car. We went through the whole funeral, shiva with his family. She had to be strong for his wife and kids while she was trying to control her own devastation. Even as a 7 year old kid, I knew something was off about her behavior after his death . Which means my dad certainly had a hunch… not that he was a poster child for monogamy either .
